Thank you, Monodraw fans
After we announced Monodraw yesterday, the reception from everyone has been absolutely incredible. The amount of support and kind words have been beyond anything that I expected. Thank you so, so much. I've read every single tweet, email and comment that I could find – your feedback is extremely important to me.
The reason why it makes me happy is because I'm not only making software for myself, I am making software to delight people. My life becomes ever so more worthwhile knowing that someone out there found my work valuable. It's the support of the fans that keeps me going and motivates me even more.
It can be quite hard working in stealth mode for long periods of time and not knowing whether it will be all worth it at the end. Of course, making products is my passion but if there is no one to use them, it can be hard to justify the efforts. One thing is absolutely certain – I'm now more motivated than ever to finish the beta build of Monodraw, so everyone can get their hands on it. That's all that matters to me, right now.
But let's not lose sight of the bigger picture. I'm under no illusions and know full well that we've got a long and hard way to go until v1 ships. I wrote the first line of code in December 2013 and have been steadily building on the foundations. It's about persistence and keeping at it – I'm fully committed to seeing where Monodraw can go and I hope our fans would come along for the ride, it would not be possible without you.
